Summer in Winter

Anne Ward, Still Point, acrylic, 16x16 in.

February 3 through April 9, 2023

Enjoy a summer holiday, wending your way through paintings and photographs of balmy travels and tranquil escapes created by our gallery artists.

Each artist takes you to a season lived outdoors via his or her preferred medium: watercolor and acrylic build villages, oil paints propagate rocky crags and fields, and photography captures endless crashing waves.

Landscape elements offer starting points to uncover surprising imagery by means of paint, graphite, or camera. Watery reflections and verdant trails offer pre-abstracted subject matter. Discover pop graphics in a desert town storefront, organic forms in broad vistas, and vibrant patterns in a backyard garden.

From studio experimentation as well as plein air observations, our artists enlarge our perception of familiar destinations — inspiring new adventures and revealing expanded views.
