September  14–November 4, 2012.

Marcia Burtt Studio presents Locus Amoenus, an exhibition of landscape paintings exploring gardens and arcadian locations as idealized places.

These idealized places are portrayed in paintings of vibrant flowers and ponds by Michael Ferguson and range to the tranquilty of a horse pasture by Marcia Burtt. Anne Ward explores the intimacy of domestic gardens and their fruits, while Jeff Yeomans continues this exploration of merging nature and culture with depictions of urban oases. Combined, the paintings turn the gallery into its own locus amoenus.

Locus Amoenus will feature paintings by Michael Ferguson, Patricia Doyle, Anne Ward, Ann Lofquist, Ian Roberts, Marilee Krause, Marcia Burtt and Jeff Yeomans.
