Los Padres National Forest encompasses nearly two million acres in the beautiful coastal mountains of central California. Stretching almost 220 miles from the Carmel Valley to the western edge of Los Angeles County, it provides the scenic backdrop for Santa Barbara as well as Big Sur, San Luis Obispo, and Ojai. Los Padres ForestWatch, a Santa Barbara-based nonprofit, works to preserve and restore the forests, mountain streams, rolling hills, deserts, wetlands, coastal areas, and wildlife of this spectacular area through innovative field work, scientific collaboration, and legal advocacy. An opening reception will take place Friday, March 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 at Marcia Burtt Studio. Regular studio hours are Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 5:00.
