October 6 – November 11, 2007 Opening Reception Friday, October 5 from 5:00 to 8:00
Marcia Burtt Studio presents a solo exhibition of new paintings by Robert Abbott beginning October 6, 2007. This will be Abbott’s first solo show although he has been a frequent guest artist with the Oak Group and has been exhibiting for the past year at the Burtt studio.
Influenced by the California plein air tradition, Robert Abbott draws on this history bringing to it a contemporary exploration of color and composition. Focused on finding the unexpected in the everyday, he creates minimalist paintings depicting an agrarian landscape that is real rather than idealized.
A reception for the artist will be held on Friday evening, October 5 from 5:00 to 8:00. The exhibit continues through November 11, 2007.
